Afghanistan Crosses

The padres of 16 Air Assault Brigade, at present deployed in Afghanistan, have each been given a cross which can be carries in their rucksack and assembled when visiting their troops in forward positions.
These are a gift from St. Mary's Church.
The two examples show the crossed dismantled and assembled.
Lashkar Gah Church, Afghanistan

With thanks to Rev. Andrew Totten who sent this message from Afghanistan.

The photo shows one of your crosses in St Martin's Chapel at Headquarters Task Force Helmand, a fortified base in the town of Lashkar Gah. The crosses are certainly finding good homes and of course, their design means we can also take them to the outstations on our journeys.
