*     Esther Webb's entry  has an interesting signature in the end column "By whom was the Ceremony performed".   This seems to have been the first funeral conducted by (the Honourable)  George Spencer, Curate.   He was the youngest son of the 2nd Earl and brother to the 3rd & 4th Earls.  He was later Rector of the Parish before converting to the Roman Catholic Church.  At the present moment he is being considered for Canonization.   There is a small framed picture of him  in the Nave of St. Mary's next to the Spencer Chapel.
